Reggie

Reggie one of our three sheep at the Funny Farm. He was found wandering the streets of Haddon Heights, not far from Philadelphia. For days, people tried to catch him. Finally, a family with the help of the local police, was able to capture him and he was brought back to the original owner. When the family found out that the owner was planning to slaughter him, they offered the owner money to keep him. After doing a lot of research, they contacted the Funny Farm, and decided this would be the best place for him to have a wonderful life. After a few days, he was well-acclimated with the goats.  Reggie decided he was not afraid of people anymore and loves meeting new people!

Jesse

Jesse is one of the most loving dogs on the planet. Maybe he knows he was given a second chance at life. You see, he was born with Megaesophagus. When he first came to the Funny Farm Rescue, his previous owners loved him but didn’t know how to take care of him. His special needs seemed overwhelming, and they asked Laurie for help. He was a little bag of bones and was literally starving to death. When she first met him, it was love at first sight.

Laurie, and Jesse’s new brother Tucker who has the same condition, showed Jesse how to eat. The love and appreciation he showed and continues to show each day is astounding. He is 1 year old now and as you can see…tall, handsome, and healthy!

Canyon

Canyon is our one-eyed horse. Sadly, he lost an eye due to a run-in with a barb-wire fence at a previous farm. He was also born with a sway back, which makes his spine curved downward. Having one eye has never slowed him down.  Canyon is smitten with Anna, a 6-year-old racehorse that recently arrived at the farm. Anna and Canyon are one of the most admired love stories of the farm.  Canyon shows people that you do not have to be perfect in order to have an amazing life full of love and adventure. Many people are inspired by his positive attitude.  It is evident that he loves living at the Funny Farm Sanctuary.

Joey

Baby Joey is the newest member on the farm! He arrived in August of this year. He came from a dairy farm and was unable to walk for three days so they were going to euthanize him. Thankfully the workers there fell in love with him and decided to try and save him. They made a promise to him they would find him a home. Through their search they found Laurie and the Funny Farm. Of course, Laurie could not say no to that cute baby face, so Joey came to live with Grandpop T-Bone and Uncle Yogi!

Freckles

Meet Freckles, one of our newest additions at the Funny Farm, who joined us in 2024! She began her journey as a house chicken and is now happily adapting to life on the farm with her own flock. One thing is for sure: Freckles absolutely loves the human visitors, and the Funny Farm has plenty of affection to share!

Just like people, chickens have unique personalities—some are curious and friendly, while others can be a bit shy. Freckles is quite outgoing with her human friends, though she tends to be a little more reserved around her feathered companions. When she isn’t socializing, this beautiful hen keeps busy laying eggs. Did you know that a healthy hen can produce anywhere from 250 to 300 eggs a year? That’s about 5 to 6 eggs a week! It’s truly impressive how productive these lovely ladies can be!

Miss Kitty

Miss Kitty the pig came to live on the farm in 2022. Kitty was raised in a condominium and quickly outgrew her living quarters. Her owners called Laurie and explained they loved her very much but realized a condo was no place for a pig. Laurie agreed to take her and now Miss Kitty loves free roaming the farm and playing with her friends. You will often see her sniffing out bird food, napping in the sun or playing with her favorite ball.
